WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
I have been drawing since I could pick up a pencil. When I was a kid, my mom told me I could bring one toy along with me, to wherever we were going, and I would choose a pencil and paper every time. I was always doodling something! Blue’s Clues was a huge part of my childhood and drawing in that “handy-dandy” notebook became a daily art lesson that later inspired me as I started teaching art! After High School, I went to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) and studied textile design. While in college I became an Art Instructor for kids and young adults. In 2016, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. During my treatment, there were complications, where I was told about the “unique” cases that were going on. Instead of looking at it negatively, I saw the silver lining and made “Bee Unique” my new mindset. Through this battle, I found myself turning to my love for art, to heal my soul. Now I’m two years cancer free and have a renewed desire to share my art any way possible!

I wanted to join the Come Together movement because as an artist myself, I loved the idea of all varieties of artists rising from the darkness caused by the shooting, the fires, and other tragedies to grow and make something new. Creativity is sometimes difficult to tap into after hardships, but Come Together gives me hope that there can be light and that time progresses and heals. It’s a movement that can apply to anyone and is designed to include everyone.
